WORD Committee: devotional sharing

During the past few weeks, our WORD committee has been brainstorming ideas on how to get our Home Group more excited about God's Word.  Here's the first fruits of their labor: regular devotional sharing.

Daniel 3

The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego is ever so refreshing and motivating for me to develop “ligament-like” bonds with my peers, bound by a steadfast faith in God. Facing the threat of a burning fiery furnace, the three faithful men adamantly refused to compromise their loyalty to God. I can’t help but think how quickly I would have yielded if I were given a similar death threat. Yet together they chose the furnace with absolute faith in God, believing that he will deliver them from the burning flames. There is a strength in numbers, and I am very much as responsible as everyone else to encourage each other and to endure hardships together. I am reminded to not fear challenges, to not fear the worldly culture that so quickly rejects God, and to not fear speaking out in defense of my religion. For it is in times of struggles and conflict that we feel most deeply the presence of God
